The backend of a videogame is becoming a platform for creation, it's where gamers are kept happy in the long run. No wonder Live Ops are key to success for many of today's digital games. They offer new content, community building, customization, localization, and quick adaptation of relevant events and Zeitgeist. We discuss the interlocking of the many departments working together in Live Ops, plus new developments in the field and the necessity to think of live ops integration in the very beginning of the production process.
