Two teams, two locations, but one game to rule them all! Managing one team can be challenging enough, but how do you deal with a team that’s split between two cities, separated by a 7-hour time difference? But there’s more to think about than just time; locales often have varied approaches to work and a litany of cultural differences. Enya will discuss the knowledge passed down to her and her own learnings from managing World of Warships Blitz, which has developer teams in both Shanghai and Berlin. The focal points will include tackling time differences, optimizing and picking the perfect communication channels, dealing with bottlenecks and avoiding ‘Us vs. Them’ situations. Overcoming these challenges can lead to a rich, diverse and, most importantly, united development team!
